Veterans Day

Held annually in November.
Wrightsville has a history of citizens serving in all branches of the military from the Civil War through today.  The town’s veterans are honored with street banners and numerous monuments throughout town.  Wrightsville is proud of its veterans, and it is a privilege to honor them on Veterans Day.

Ghost Tour

Held annually in October.

Who doesn’t love a good ghost tour? Wrightsville has its share of paranormal and tales of unusual sightings and stories.

Museum Opening

Held annually.

The museum on Locust Street is closed annually from Christmas until mid-February for the display theme to change and be updated.  The opening is a fantastic gala theme enjoyed by both members and visitors.

Yard Sale

This event has been discontinued.

Old Town Night

Held annually at different times.

Old Town Nights feature interesting speakers and presentations regarding Wrightsville’s history.

Listing of documented Civil War Veterans; a total of 11.
There is also a veteran of WWII – Ann Bybee – who was a part of the 6888 unit recently made into a movie.
There are veterans buried there from WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and those who served during peacetime.

Lots of yummy refreshments were served with the help of our dedicated volunteers!

Scavenger Hunt

Held annually.

This is a new event.  Focused on Wrightsville’s historical sites, the hunt is both fun and educational. 

Annual Members Banquet

Held Annually.

Held every November, the members banquet includes several presentations from Board members on HWI’s event recap for the year, Treasurer’s report and other important projects and updates.
